Nikolas Allen’s DigiPopFuzzBox exhibit at SpotArt Gallery in Minneapolis, MN
DIGIPOPFUZZBOX is my trademark brand of Digital Pop art mounted to Fuzzy Box frames. My work has a strong point of view, a consistent style and a provocative edge that engages and stimulates the viewer.
Much of the DIGIPOPFUZZBOX series examines the many ways people poison themselves and the ones they love. At first glance, it’s the bold, fun, colorful irreverence that captivates. Upon further inspection, the perceptive viewer is rewarded with layers of visual detail. Eventually, the darker subtext emerges raising question as to the artist’s, as well as the viewer’s own, stance on the subject.
My presentation is as important as the message. I continually challenge myself to explore fresh ideas, methods and materials for printing, framing and mounting my work.

For my latest creation, the DIGIPOPARTGATE, the artwork is mounted to chain link fence gates – painted a perfect pop hue, of course. Whether viewers discover a profound statement in the gates or simply see it as an innovative framing technique in a “seen-it-all” world, both perceptions are correct.
A perfect dichotomy. A glimpse of truth. A hint of irony. A primal urge. A rock ‘n roll attitude. These are some of the tools I utilize in my artistic expression. The results instigate visceral reactions, encourage questions and promote dialogue.
